Credits System

Understanding how credits and quotas work in XTranslator.

What Are Credits?

XTranslator uses a daily credits system combined with per-feature quotas to manage translation usage. This system ensures fair access while preventing abuse.

How It Works

Daily Credits

Each plan includes daily credits that:

  • Reset at midnight UTC every day
  • Cannot be carried over to the next day
  • Are used to track overall system usage
  • Work alongside feature-specific quotas
PlanDaily Credits

Feature Quotas

In addition to daily credits, each feature has per-day limits:

FeatureFreeStarterProUltimate
Documents/day351550
Images/day351550
Audio files/day3102050
Text translationsUnlimited*Unlimited*Unlimited*Unlimited*

*Text translations are limited only by character count per request and daily credits.

Character Limits Per Request

Maximum characters per text translation:

PlanMax Characters
Free1,500
Starter10,000
Pro20,000
Ultimate50,000

Credit Consumption

Text Translation

  • Uses daily credit pool
  • No per-transaction limit on number of translations
  • Only limited by character count per request
  • Credits track overall daily usage

Document Translation

  • 1 credit per document
  • Subject to daily document quota (3/5/15/50 depending on plan)
  • File size and page limits also apply

Image Translation (OCR)

  • 1 credit per image
  • Subject to daily image quota (3/5/15/50 depending on plan)
  • File size limits also apply

Audio Translation

  • 1 credit per audio file
  • Subject to daily audio quota (3/5/15/50 depending on plan)
  • File size limits also apply

Daily Reset

All credits and quotas reset at midnight UTC every day:

  • Daily credits are replenished to full amount
  • Document/image/audio quotas reset to plan limits
  • Previous day's usage does not affect new day

Flex Credits (Paid Plans Only)

Flex Credits are optional add-ons for text translation:

  • Never expire - Use them anytime
  • Text translation only - Not for documents, images, or audio
  • Used after daily credits - Automatically kick in when daily credits exhausted
  • Purchased separately - See Flex Credits

How Flex Credits Work

  1. Daily credits are used first for all translations
  2. When daily credits run out, flex credits are used only for text translation
  3. Other features (docs, images, audio) become unavailable until midnight UTC
  4. Flex credits carry over indefinitely

Running Out of Credits/Quotas

If You Hit Daily Limits

Option 1: Wait Until Midnight UTC

  • All credits and quotas reset automatically
  • Free option, no action needed

Option 2: Upgrade Your Plan

  • Get higher daily credits and quotas
  • Takes effect immediately
  • See Pricing Plans

Option 3: Purchase Flex Credits (Paid plans only)

  • Extends text translation capacity only
  • Does not increase document/image/audio quotas
  • See Flex Credits

Credit Usage Tracking

Monitor your usage in real-time:

  1. Sign in to your XTranslator account

  3. View Today's Usage section
