What is XTranslator?

Do I need to create an account?

No, you can use basic text translation and OCR features without an account. However, creating a free account unlocks:

  • All translation features (documents, images, audio)
  • Higher character limits
  • Domain specialization
  • Daily usage tracking
  • Ability to purchase flex credits (with paid plans)

Is XTranslator really free?

Yes! The Free plan is available forever with no credit card required. It includes:

  • 35 daily credits
  • All translation features
  • Up to 1,500 characters per text translation
  • 3 documents, 3 images, 3 audio files, and 3 OCR requests per day

Paid plans offer higher limits for professional users.

How accurate are the translations?

XTranslator uses state-of-the-art AI models (GPT-4, Gemini) to deliver high-quality translations. Accuracy varies by:

  • Language pair: Common pairs (e.g., English-Spanish) are most accurate
  • Domain: Specialized domains improve accuracy for specific content
  • Content type: Clear, well-structured text translates best

We recommend proofreading for critical content.

Can I use XTranslator for commercial purposes?

Yes, all plans (including Free) can be used for commercial purposes. For high-volume business use, we recommend Pro or Ultimate plans.

Account & Billing

How do I create an account?

  1. Go to XTranslator.app
  2. Click Sign In > Sign Up
  3. Choose Email/Password or Google Sign-In
  4. Complete registration
  5. Verify your email (if using email/password)

Can I change my email address?

Currently, email addresses cannot be changed after registration. If you need to use a different email, you'll need to create a new account.

How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

  1. Sign in to your account
  2. Go to Profile > Subscription
  3. Click Change Plan
  4. Select your new plan
  5. Confirm the change

Upgrades take effect immediately with pro-rated billing. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

Yes! You can cancel anytime without penalty:

  1. Go to Profile > Subscription
  2. Click Cancel Subscription
  3. Follow the cancellation flow

You'll retain access until the end of your paid period, then automatically downgrade to the Free plan.

Do you offer refunds?

Due to the nature of our service (immediate access to translations), we do not offer refunds. You can cancel at any time to avoid future charges.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept:

  • Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
  • Debit cards
  • PayPal (availability varies by region)

Payments are processed securely by Lemon Squeezy.

Features & Usage

What's the difference between daily credits and flex credits?

Daily Credits:

  • Included with your subscription
  • Reset every day at midnight UTC
  • Cannot be carried over
  • Used first before flex credits

Flex Credits:

  • Available for purchase (paid plans only)
  • Never expire
  • Used only for text translation
  • Used after daily credits are exhausted

How do I know how many credits I have left?

Check your remaining credits:

  1. Sign in to your account
  2. Go to Profile > Overview
  3. View Today's Usage section

You'll see:

  • Daily credits remaining
  • Flex credits balance
  • Usage by feature type

What happens when I run out of daily credits?

If you're on a paid plan and have flex credits:

  • System automatically uses flex credits for text translation
  • Other features become unavailable until midnight UTC

If you're on the Free plan or have no flex credits:

  • Wait until midnight UTC for daily reset
  • Upgrade to a higher plan
  • Purchase flex credits (paid plans only)

Can I translate in multiple languages at once?

Not currently. Each translation is one source language to one target language. For multiple target languages, you need to perform separate translations.

Tip: Use the Copy button to quickly save each translation before creating the next one.

What file formats are supported?

Documents:

  • PDF (native and scanned)
  • DOCX (Microsoft Word)
  • PPTX (Microsoft PowerPoint)
  • TXT (plain text)
  • SRT (subtitle files)

What's the maximum file size I can upload?

Maximum file size depends on your plan:

Are my translations stored?

No. For privacy, XTranslator:

  • Processes translations in real-time
  • Does not permanently store your content
  • Deletes translations after delivery
  • Maintains usage statistics only (anonymous)

Your privacy is important to us.

Can I save my translation history?

Currently, XTranslator does not save translation history. We recommend:

  • Copy important translations to your clipboard
  • Save to a document on your device
  • Use browser bookmarks for frequently translated content

Text Translation

What's the maximum text length I can translate?

Maximum characters per translation depends on your plan:

  • Free: 1,500 characters
  • Starter: 10,000 characters
  • Pro: 20,000 characters
  • Ultimate: 50,000 characters

For longer content, use Document Translation.

How does streaming translation work?

XTranslator uses Server-Sent Events (SSE) to stream translations in real-time:

  • Words appear as they're generated (typically ~50 words/second)
  • No waiting for the entire translation to complete
  • Can be stopped mid-stream if needed
  • Requires stable internet connection

Can I translate multiple texts at once?

Currently, each translation is processed individually. To translate multiple texts:

  1. Complete first translation
  2. Copy result
  3. Clear input
  4. Start next translation

For batch translation needs, consider using our API (contact us for details).

What happens if I lose connection during translation?

If your connection drops during streaming:

  • Partial translation is preserved
  • Reconnect and start a new translation
  • Copy any partial results before refreshing

For best results, ensure stable internet when translating.

Why does my translation seem wrong?
