Quick Start Guide

Get up and running with XTranslator in minutes. This guide will walk you through creating an account and making your first translation.

Try Without an Account (Anonymous Mode)​

Want to test XTranslator before signing up? You can use limited features immediately:

  1. Visit XTranslator.app
  2. You'll land on the Text Translator page
  3. Enter up to 1,500 characters of text
  4. Select source and target languages
  5. Click Translate to see instant results

Anonymous User Limits:

  • Text translation: Up to 1,500 characters per request, 10 translations per day
  • OCR: Up to 10MB files, 5 pages max, 3 requests per day
  • No document, image, or audio translation
  • No domain specialization

Creating Your Free Account​

To unlock all features and higher limits, create a free account:

Step 1: Sign Up​

  1. Click the Sign In button in the top navigation
  2. Choose your sign-up method:
    • Email & Password: Enter your email and create a secure password
    • Google Sign-In: Use your Google account for quick access
  3. Verify your email address (if using email/password method)
  4. You're ready to go!

Step 2: Choose Your Plan​

After signing in, you're automatically on the Free Plan with:

  • 35 daily credits for all translation types
  • 3 documents per day (up to 10 pages, 10MB each)
  • 3 images per day (up to 5MB each)
  • 3 audio files per day (up to 15MB each)
  • 3 OCR requests per day (up to 10 pages, 10MB each)
  • Text translations up to 1,500 characters at once

Step 3: Complete Your Profile​

  1. Click your profile icon in the top right
  2. Navigate to Profile > Overview
  3. Add your display name and preferences
  4. Set your preferred interface language

Making Your First Translation​

Text Translation​

  1. Go to the Translator page (default homepage)
  2. In the left text area, enter or paste your text
  3. Select your source language (or use "Auto-detect")
  4. Select your target language
  5. (Optional) Choose a domain (Legal, Medical, Technical, etc.) for specialized translation
  6. Click Translate or press Ctrl+Enter (Windows) / Cmd+Enter (Mac)
  7. Watch your translation stream in real-time in the right panel

Pro Tips:

  • Use the Copy button to copy the translation to your clipboard
  • Click Swap Languages to quickly reverse the translation direction
  • Click Clear to start fresh
  • Your translation appears in real-time as it's generated

Document Translation​

  1. Click Documents in the navigation or sidebar
  2. Click Upload File or drag and drop your file
  3. Supported formats: PDF, DOCX, PPTX, TXT, SRT
  4. Select your target language
  5. (Optional) Choose a domain for specialized translation
  6. Click Translate Document
  7. Download your translated file when ready

Important Notes:

  • Document translation uses 1 credit per request
  • Maximum file size and pages depend on your plan
  • Processing time varies with document length
  • Downloaded files maintain original formatting

Image Translation (OCR)​

  1. Go to the OCR page from the navigation
  2. Upload an image (JPG/JPEG, PNG, WEBP, GIF)
  3. The system will extract text automatically
  4. Select your target language
  5. (Optional) Choose a domain
  6. Click Translate
  7. Review both the extracted text and translation

Use Cases:

  • Translating signs, menus, and labels
  • Converting scanned documents
  • Extracting text from screenshots
  • Translating handwritten notes (quality depends on handwriting clarity)

Audio Translation​

  1. Navigate to Apps > Audio Translation (requires authentication)
  2. Upload an audio file (MP3, WAV, MP4)
  3. Select the source language of the audio
  4. Select your target language
  5. (Optional) Choose a domain
  6. Click Translate Audio
  7. Review the transcription and translation

Process:

  1. Audio is transcribed to text (speech-to-text)
  2. Transcribed text is translated to target language
  3. You get both the original transcription and translation

Understanding Credits​

XTranslator uses a credit-based system:

  • Daily Credits: Reset at midnight UTC every day
  • Flex Credits: Never expire, used when daily credits run out (purchased separately)

Credit Usage:​

  • Text Translation: Uses daily credit pool, no per-transaction limit
  • Document Translation: 1 credit per document
  • Image Translation: 1 credit per image
  • Audio Translation: 1 credit per audio file
  • OCR Request: 1 credit per OCR operation

Example (Free Plan):

  • You have 35 daily credits
  • You can translate 3 documents (3 credits), 3 images (3 credits), 3 audio files (3 credits), and 3 OCR requests (3 credits) = 12 credits used
  • Remaining 23 credits available for any combination of these features
